So I decided to upload my film from this past year at School of Visual Arts. It won Outstanding Achievement Traditional Animation Production Design at this year’s Dusty Film Festival. It was an extremely personal film so it’s a little scary putting it out for all to see but here it is and I hope that others will get something out of it! I’d love to hear your feedback and feel free to share. And if anyone has questions about it, don’t be shy!
Man I was hoping my business cards would come in time for tonight
BUT THEY TOTALLY DIDN’T COOL THANKS. I’ll get them tomorrow after this ASIFA event I guarantee it.
I am procrastinating on a paper, my second to last paper ever in my life, that I have been procrastinating on for the past three or so weeks and it’s going to get an awful grade but that’s cool.
Lately I have been feeling pretty shitty about my work due to a string of rejections, but I am finally getting over it. Fuck them, I am awesome, and they missed out on working with a rad person. I just need to keep this attitude up so I don’t starting sobbing in corners haha. Knowing that school is concluding and no longer a safety net to lean back on for things is terrifying and liberating at the same time and I have no idea what I am doing.
But enough stupid rambling let’s do some plugging for some dumb film I made:
So I know everyone in the SVA animation department knows about this, but I know I have followers who are not in animation or not at SVA at all who might be interested.
On May 7th, SVA’s animation thesis screenings will be taking place at 7pm. There will be a lot of really super cool films that will be screening and you should check them out. Be there or be square at 333 W. 23rd st. between 8th and 9th ave. In addition to animation stuff, there are live actions films also made by awesome people from May 6th to the 8th so gogogogogogo. It’s free and there’s an awesome bakery called Big Booty a block away where you can grab some snacks at before showing up.
